What Are
Charter Schools?
Charter schools are tuition-free public schools that serve all students through open enrollment lotteries. They operate with three key principles:

Accountability & Transparency
In exchange for flexibility, charter schools face increased accountability. Schools that don’t meet performance standards face closure—ensuring only high-quality options remain available.

Charter schools expand public school options, allowing families to choose schools that best fit their children’s learning styles, interests, and goals.
Special Education and English Language Learners: Every participating charter school serves students with Special Needs and students who are English Language Learners.
