Yes! Charter schools serve students from across Oakland through open enrollment.
What if my child has special needs?

Special Education students and students with special needs are welcome on all of our school campuses. Our charter schools provide a variety of special education services for students with Special Needs.
What if my student is an English Language Learner?
Answer
Students whose native language is not English are welcome in our schools and classrooms. Our schools are prepared to provide a quality education regardless of home language.
Is there a cost to attend charter schools?
Answer
No. Charter schools are completely free public schools.
What if I miss the application deadline?
Answer
Late applications are accepted starting February 18, 2026, but priority goes to on-time applicants.

How do I know if a school is a good fit?

Visit schools, talk to current families, and consider your child’s learning style and interests.
Can my child transfer schools later?
Answer
Yes, but it depends on available space. It’s best to choose carefully from the start.
What if my child doesn't get into their first choice?
Answer
Students are placed on waitlists and may receive offers as spaces open. You can also accept offers from other schools.
