This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what information Oakland Enrolls (“Oakland Enrolls,” “us,” “we,” “our”) collects through our websites located at https://oaklandenrolls.org/, and hosted at https://enrolloak.schoolmint.net/welcome, and https://oaklandfinder.schoolmint.net/school-finder/home (individually referred to as, the “Website” and collectively, the “Websites”), or when you sign up to receive updates, and how we use this information. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to use our Websites or sign up for the updates. By accessing or using our Websites and our resources, you consent to this Privacy Policy.
1. INFORMATION THAT WE COLLECT

We collect the following Personal Information from you when you access our Websites, use our online enrollment services (the “Services”), create an account on https://enrolloak.schoolmint.net/welcome (the “Account”), and provide information in the application system (the “Online Application System”) about the student that you, as a parent or legal guardian, are authorized to act on behalf of (the “Student”):
- First and Last Name of parent(s)/ legal guardian(s)
- Relationship to Student(s)
- First, Middle, and Last Name of Student(s)
- Home Address of parent(s)/legal guardian(s)
- Home Address of Student(s)
- Phone Number of parent(s)/legal guardian(s)
- Email Address of parent(s)/legal guardian(s)
- Date of Birth of Student(s)
- Demographic Information of Student
2. HOW WE COLLECT YOUR INFORMATION
We collect your Information from various sources that may include, for example, the following:
- You Directly. Information you provide directly when you use or otherwise interact with our Websites; submit information to get updates; submit Personal Information about Student(s); contact us; and provide us feedback.
- Third Party links on our Websites and Third Party Service Providers. Our Websites may contain links to other third party websites for your convenience. Our Websites may be hosted by third party service providers. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other third parties and any information you submit to a third party is subject to their privacy policy. Once you leave the Oakland Enrolls website or are redirected to a third-party website, application, or other online services, we encourage you to read the privacy policy applicable to that third party. Specifically, our Website https://enrolloak.schoolmint.net/welcome is hosted by SchoolMint, Inc. (“SchoolMint”), and SchoolMint’s privacy policy is available here: https://www.schoolmint.com/privacy-policy/. Please note, that in order to submit Student’s application through the Online Application System, you will have to create an Account on https://enrolloak.schoolmint.net/welcome, which is hosted by SchoolMint.
- Your Browser or Device. Information collected automatically as a result of your interaction with us and your use of the Websites. The Information that we automatically collect, include your IP Address, geolocation information (which may include specific longitude and latitude), time zone, usage times and volume, and information about the device you are using (for example, device type, device ID, characteristics and status, browser type, operating system and application version and information about how our Site is used), language preference, URL click stream, or information that we collect through our marketing activities, We use Google Analytics to collect such data. - Cookies. We may also use cookies to collect the above information. Cookies are small files of letters and numbers stored on your browser or device that enable the cookie owner to recognize the device when it visits websites or uses online services. - To Provide and Improve our Services. We use the Information to provide our Services, such as administering Accounts and assisting with enrollments. We may also use personal information to understand how site visitors use our Websites in order to improve our Websites.
- To Communicate with You. We use your Personal Information to respond to you when you contact us or to inform you of any updates or changes to your Account. To update your Account information, or to opt-out of receiving certain communications, please see How to Access and Control Your Personal Information below.
4. DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
We share Personal Information with your consent or to facilitate the Service with the schools that you have selected for the Student. When necessary, we share Personal Information with trusted third party service providers, such as SchoolMint, to provide services on our behalf. We also share Personal Information if required by law, to protect our customers or others, or to maintain the security of our Website and related services. We may access, preserve, use, or disclose your Information in order to protect the rights of the business, its property, its employees and others, or to enforce our contracts. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, sale, restructuring, bankruptcy or other change in ownership, personal information may be among the transferred business assets. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
5. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SECURE?
We use certain physical, administrative and electronic safeguards to protect the security, confidentiality and integrity of personal information. While no method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee that our network or systems will never be compromised, we take measures to protect your personal information against loss or unauthorized access. It is your responsibility to maintain the confidentiality of your account password. Please contact us immediately if you think your account may have been compromised.
6. CHILDREN’S ONLINE PRIVACY
Our Websites are general audience websites that assist parents/legal guardians in submitting school enrollment applications through Online Application Systems. Our Websites are not intended for use by children under 13 years of age, even though you may provide us with Personal Information about children under 13 years of age. If you become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information through our Websites, we ask that you notify us by email at [email protected]. Should we become aware that a child under age 13 has provided personal information through our Websites, we will take steps to delete it immediately.
7. HOW TO ACCESS, CONTROL, AND DELETE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
- Oakland Enrolls Account. You can view or edit Personal Information connected to your account by logging into your Oakland Enrolls Account online. You can delete an application that is in draft status by continuing the application and clicking the “Cancel” button. You can delete a Student or guardian’s information by going to “Family Profile” and clicking the trashcan button. This deletes the Student’s information from the profile. However, you will not be able to delete a Student’s information if that Student’s application was submitted to a school, even once, irrespective of whether such an application was later withdrawn or canceled.
- Amending or Deleting Submitted Applications. Once an application is submitted using the Online Application System, the only way to delete that application is by contacting the applied-for schools for the Student. Oakland Enrolls will not be able to assist you with such a change.
- Email Preferences. You may choose to opt-out of receiving certain email communications by logging into your Account and changing your email preferences or by following the instructions in the email to unsubscribe.
- Access Requests. You may also contact us directly by email or postal mail to request access to, correct, change or delete your Personal Information.
If you contact us with a request, we may need to ask for additional information from you in order to confirm your identity. This is to ensure that your personal information is not disclosed to a person who does not have a right to receive it. We will endeavor to respond to your inquiry within 30 days. Please note that we may have a legal obligation to preserve certain data.

9. CALIFORNIA RIGHTS
If you are a California resident, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits you to make an annual request for information regarding the disclosure of categories of your personal information Oakland Enrolls has shared with a third party for the third party’s direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to any third party to use for its own direct marketing purposes.
Oakland Enrolls will not use your data for any purpose beyond the indicated purposes in this Privacy Policy. This includes, but is not limited to, Oakland Enrolls’ policy to never use Personal Information, including personally identifiable information, from a Student’s records to engage in targeted advertising.

10. CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy is effective as of May 20, 2020. From time to time it may become necessary to update or change our Privacy Policy and we encourage you to periodically check here for the most current version. If significant changes are made, we will provide you with appropriate notice, which may include conspicuous notice on our Websites, or email notification. Your continued use of our Websites constitutes your agreement to this Privacy Policy.
